Alexander's is situated at a very central location (three-minute walk to Museum Square along canal).The house was built in 1886 has a nice facade, five levels and 8 rooms. Flights of stairs are typical Dutch: narrow and steep (no elevator, only one ground floor private studio/apartment available). Ruijsdaelkade and Gerard Doustraat are low traffic, quiet streets.
This quarter is called 'Oud Zuid/De Pijp'. A great variety of restaurants,pubs, shopping possibilities and a daily market are in the direct vicinity. An attractive multicultural and safe area where you surely will enjoy Dutch daily life. Welcome in the 'Quartier Latin' of Amsterdam.
Alexander's is not a luxurious place, but it has character, is cozy and convenient. A house where you will feel at home.
If Ruysdaelkade/Gerard Doustraat is fully booked you will be offered similar accomodation at another central location(western canal belt close to Leidse Plein square)
An indoor swimmming pool is next to Rijksmuseum, two minutes walking distance. For jogging Vondelpark is close. Bicycles for rent at Alexander`s. Culture oriented guests or business travellers preferred.
